SIDELIGHTS For all seniors

SCOPE Howland Senior Center, 9273 High St. N.E., Warren, will hold a Black and Blue Ball dinner and dance Sept. 12. Doors open at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30. The cost is $7.50. A one-day bus excursion is planned for Sept. 17 and open to the public. Departure is at 7 a.m. and features a cruise on Portage Lake, visit to Brick and Brac Winery, lunch at Der Dertch House Restaurant, a visit to Schoenbrunn Village and shopping or dinner on your own at Beldon Village. Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Tuesday, oil painting at 10 a.m., exercise class and blood pressure screening at noon, computer class at 1 p.m. and chorus at 1:30; Wednesday, watercolor class at 9:30 a.m., computer class at 10, noon and 2 p.m., tai chi at noon, blood pressure screening at 12:30 p.m., 500 card club at 1 and follies at 1:30; Thursday, woodcarvers at 9 a.m., blood pressure screening at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., exercise class at noon, and computer class and line dancing at 1 p.m.; and Friday, S.W.A.P. meeting at 9 a.m. and craft club 12:30 p.m. Call (330) 744-5071 for more information.
