Unconscious teen is found at beer party
BERLIN CENTER -- An unconscious and intoxicated 16-year-old Canfield girl was taken to Northside Medical Center early Thanksgiving Day from a party at the home of a friend on Berlin Station Road whose parents were out of town.
Deputy Bill Cranston, who found the girl in an attic bedroom about 12:15 a.m., called for an ambulance. Her parents were called to the home.
Deputies said Eric M. Holdt, 25, of Williamsburg Drive, Canfield, admitted that he had brought two kegs of beer to the party. He was charged with providing beer to an underage person.
Another man who had been at the party reportedly sold cups for $5, which allowed the buyers to get beer from the kegs.
The scene: Reports state that the deputies found between 50 and 75 people, including many juveniles, at the home.
Two beer kegs, one full and one empty, were found outside the home. Deputies also found several bottles of alcohol and empty beer cans at the home.
Deputies later spoke with a 16-year-old girl who lived at the home. She said her parents were out of state and she was having a party. Her parents could not be reached by deputies.
