Published: Wed, November 21, 2001 @ 12:00 a.m.

WARREN -- An educational aide from McGuffey Elementary School is heading to New York City next week, taking with her letters of support and appreciation for firefighters.

Marina Raphtis will visit the city Nov. 29 and plans to deliver letters being prepared by several classrooms to one fire department.

The class project was adopted in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that leveled the World Trade Center.

McGuffey staff is collecting small items, such as work gloves, candy bars, socks, etc. for the firefighters.
