CAMPUS NOTES Achievements
Shannon L. Simmons, of East Palestine, and Anna E. Morris, of Hubbard, were among nine Westminster elementary education majors who interned in Mexico City schools in the spring. The students worked at the Early Childhood Center of the American School. Simmons is a graduate of Crestview High School and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Simmons. Morris is a Hubbard High School graduate and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Morris, of Hubbard.Westminster students Logan Edmiston, Jennifer Lewis and Amandy Pinkney presented their undergraduate research at the Fourth Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium at the University of Maryland. Edmiston and Lewis' research was entitled "Permeabilization of the Fish Gill Barrier Epithelium by Bioactive Compounds." Pinkney's research was "Phytoremediation of Cadmium and Arsenic by Mustard, Alfafa and KY31 Tall Fescue Using Blastofiltration."
Elizabeth F. Reynolds, a 1999 Liberty High School graduate, was inducted into the International Honor Society in Education of the Kappa Delta Pi Alpha Chapter. She is a junior at Hiram and the daughter of Mary Beth Reynolds.

Jessica Goske of Poland has accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. NSCS is a selective national honors organization for first- and second-year undergraduate students.
Boardman resident Adriane Blewitt represented Ashland at the National Student Leadership Conference in Sport Sciences in Birmingham, Ala. A senior majoring in physical education and health education, Blewitt was one of two students nationwide selected by the National Association of Sport and Physical Education to attend the event. She is a 1998 Boardman High School graduate and the daughter of Rae Blewitt, of Boardman.
