CHAMPION -- The 23rd annual Turkey Trot sponsored by Warren Kiwanis Club will be Nov. 22 at Kent State University Trumbull Campus on Mahoning Avenue.
The 5-mile race starts at 9:45 a.m. and a 2-mile fun walk/run will be at 9 a.m. Both start and finish at the campus.
Awards will be presented in Lecture Hall A of the administration building after the races.
Preregistration is $13 per person and includes a long-sleeve shirt if payment is received by Nov. 16. Race-day registration is an additional $2.
"This is our club's largest fund-raising activity each year," said Greg Yurco, Turkey Trot chairman. "The race is a Thanksgiving tradition for many, and is the largest such event in the tri-county area."
Last year: More than 1,000 runners participated last year, with $9,000 raised for charitable donations through registration fees and corporate sponsorships.
