Summary of recent police activity in Austintown Township and Canfield:

CANFIELD

Oct. 28

Drug paraphernalia: Police arrested a 31-year-old Brooklyn, Miss., man on a charge of possessing a marijuana pipe after police stopped him on state Route 46 carrying a backpack that had a sign on it saying he was looking for work.

Nov. 2

Theft: A man reportedly stole 24 cartons of cigarettes in a case from Kabetos, 407 W. Main St.

Nov. 3

Assault: Police filed charges of assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, theft, falsification, aggravated menacing and possession of drug paraphernalia against a 30-year-old Youngstown woman accused of stealing items from Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main St., and attempting to flee in a truck driven by an accomplice. A glass pipe containing suspected cocaine residue was found on her, police said. Merchandise stolen included toiletry items and some packaged food.

AUSTINTOWN

Oct. 28

Theft: A woman reported her purse was stolen at Chippers Sports Bar, 5 N. Edgehill Ave.

Criminal damaging: A brick was thrown through a car window in the residential 3000 block of Ayrshire Drive.

Breaking and entering: Miscellaneous tools were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Shutrump Court.

Theft: A realty sign was reported stolen from the residential 4000 block of Timberbrook Drive.

Oct. 29

Theft: About 150 gallons of fuel was siphoned from a vehicle at the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Vandalism: A door lock was punched out on a vehicle in the residential 2000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: A refund check was reported stolen in the residential 4000 block of New Road.

Theft: An AM-FM compact disk player was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at Bob Eddy's Chrysler Jeep, 4850 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: Entrance was gained through a rear door and a VCR and television were taken in the residential 300 block of DeHoff Drive.

Criminal damaging: Rocks were thrown at a residence in the 5000 block of London Drive.

Theft: A wallet was reported missing by a man at Edge Seal Technologies, 6150 Victoria Road.

Theft: A digital camera was taken from Radio Shack, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Oct. 30

Burglary: There were no signs of forced entry in a burglary reported at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Theft: About 26 gallons of gasoline was reported stolen at Sheetz Gas Station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Counterfeit: A counterfeit $20 bill was reported passed at The Babylon, 114 Javit Court.

Oct. 31

Counterfeit: Five counterfeit $20 bills were reported passed at The Babylon.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle windshield was cracked at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Drug offense: Police arrested a man on drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia charges at Sav-A-Step, 4226 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A purple gazing globe was damaged in the residential 2000 block of Bainbridge Street.

Burglary: Numerous items were stolen, including an H & amp;K .40-caliber handgun, from a residence in the 4000 block of East Webb Road.

Criminal damaging: Vinyl siding and screens were damaged by a paint ball gun in the residential 4000 block of Burkey Road.

Nov. 1

Criminal trespass: Police arrested two women on criminal trespass charges at The Rebel Lounge truck lot, 5335 Seventy-Six Drive.

Criminal damaging: A mailbox and post were damaged in the 5000 block of Lou Ida Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was scratched in the residential 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Burglary: A personal check and a credit card were stolen from an apartment in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: A window was broken at the Strock House, 7171 Mahoning Ave.

Nov. 2

Theft: An AM-FM compact disk in-dash stereo and five CDs were stolen from a vehicle parked at J.C. Penney Co., 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Nov. 3

Forgery: Checks were stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of Compass West apartments and later cashed.

Criminal damaging: The paint on a vehicle was damaged at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: The aluminum siding was damaged on a residence in the residential 5000 block of Country Trail.

Criminal damaging: The paint was damaged on a vehicle parked at Pondersoa, 4626 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Miscellaneous auto parts were taken from a residence in the 60 block of Maple Drive.
