NEWTON FALLS -- A Milton Boulevard man facing burglary charges in Trumbull County has now been arrested on burglary charges from Jackson and Milton townships and the village of Craig Beach.
Daniel L. Hiles, 47, was served Thursday at the Trumbull County Jail with 14 felony warrants charging him with burglary. He has been jailed since his arrest Oct. 22 in Trumbull County in break-ins at numerous buildings.
What happened: Milton Township Police Chief William Moretz said Hiles is suspected of breaking into 18 buildings and stealing money in the two townships and Craig Beach. Hiles also is suspected of damaging the inside of the buildings, Moretz said.
The buildings burglarized include Jackson-Milton School, St. Catherine Church, Trinity Church and Lake Milton Library.
Police believe Hiles used a taxi service to travel from his home to various townships. The taxi would drop him off and he would walk to the building, police said.
Moretz said he believes the taxi drivers did not know Hiles was going to commit a crime after he was dropped off.
Hiles is to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Monday in Mahoning County Court in Austintown.
