COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREVIEW Saturday's games

BALDWIN-WALLACE (6-2, 5-2)vs. MOUNT UNION (8-0, 7-0)

When: 1:30 p.m.

Where: Mount Union Stadium, Alliance.

Last year: Mount Union 41, Baldwin-Wallace 0.

All-time series: Baldwin-Wallace leads, 21-17-1.

Scouting report: This is an Ohio Athletic Conference game. Mount Union routed Muskingum last week, 48-7, to stay unbeaten; while Baldwin-Wallace thumped Marietta, 46-22, for its fourth straight win. The Purple Raiders are ranked No. 1 in the nation in NCAA Division III. Senior RB Chuck Moore became the first Mount Union player to rush for 1,000 yards in each of three years with 1,066 yards. Moore has 22 TDS so far this season and needs only one more to set the single-season school record.

GROVE CITY (2-5)vs. CARNEGIE MELLON (6-1)

When: 1 p.m.

Where: Gesling Stadium, Pittsburgh.

Last year: Grove City 14, Carnegie Mellon 10.

All-time series: Carnegie Mellon leads, 24-17-2.

Scouting report: Last Saturday, Grove City beat Bethany, 9-0, while Carnegie Mellon won 30-20 over Rochester. Senior ILB Adam Corbett of Grove City from Champion High was selected PAC Defensive Player of the Week. Corbett came up with 10 tackles and two pass break-ups in the 9-0 win over Bethany, the Wolverines' first shutout since 1998.

CASE WESTERN RESERVE (3-5)vs. HIRAM (3-4)

When: 1 p.m.

Where: Charles A. Henry Field, Hiram.

Last year: Hiram 17, Case Western Reserve 7.

All-time series: Hiram leads, 11-5-1.

Scouting report: Last week, Case Western Reserve defeated Denison, 43-29, while Hiram was blanked by Wittenberg, 33-0. Wittenberg's win clinched a share of the NCAC title. The Tigers now have won five straight NCAC crowns. Hiram senior RB Chris Giebel rushed for 54 yards in 22 carries to give him 3,002 yards for his career -- only the second Terrier ball-carrier to reach 3,000.

KENYON (0-7) vs. THIEL (1-7)

When: 1 p.m.

Where: Alumni Stadium, Greenville, Pa.

Last year: Kenyon 27, Thiel 26.

All-time series: Kenyon leads, 2-1.

Scouting report: Kenyon lost 58-14 to Ohio Wesleyan last week, while Thiel bowed to Washington & amp; Jefferson, 38-20. W & amp;J clinched its 16th PAC crown in the last 17 Years. Junior WR Donte Harris of Thiel had 136 yards in pass catches to lead the Tomcats to a 245-198 yards advantage through the air. Senior QB T.J. Wiley hit on 11-of-21 passes for 127 yards, while freshman Daryl Moore was 6-of-12 for 118 yards.

WOOSTER (2-5, 2-3)vs. ALLEGHENY (4-4, 3-2)

When: 1 p.m.

Where: Robertson Field, Meadville.

Last year: Allegheny 43, Wooster 15.

All-time series: Allegheny leads, 15-9.

Scouting report: This is a North Coast Athletic Conference game. Last Saturday in NCAC play, Wooster shut out Oberlin, 28-0, while Allegheny lost to Wabash, 41-20.

MILLERSVILLE (2-7)vs. SLIPPERY ROCK (5-3)

When: 1 p.m.

Where: N. Kerr Thompson Stadium, Slippery Rock, Pa.

Last year: Slippery Rock 29, Millersville 6.

Scouting report: Last Saturday, Slippery Rock blanked Lock Haven, 28-0, while Millersville lost to Bloomsburg, 42-13.

WASHINGTON & amp; JEFFERSON (8-0)vs. MALONE (2-6)

All-time series: Wash. & amp; Jefferson leads, 1-0.

Scouting report: Last week, W & amp;J remained unbeaten with a 38-20 win over Thiel; while Malone lost, 58-17. to St. Francis (Ind.).

Scouting report: This a Mid-States Football Association Mideast League game. Last week, Walsh snuffed Tiffin, 17-0, for its fifth straight win, to stay tied for first place in the loop with St. Francis (Ind.).

GENEVA (3-5,1-3) vs. TIFFIN (2-7, 2-3)

When: 1 p.m.

Where: Frost-Kalnow stadium, Tiffin.

Last year: Geneva 38, Tiffin 22.

Scouting report: This is a Mid-States Football Association Mideast League game. Geneva didn't play last week, while Tiffin was shut out by Walsh, 17-0.
