Arthur Awards evening
YOUNGSTOWN -- Admission to Youngstown Playhouse's 36th annual Arthur Awards is free to actors, technicians and ushers who worked during the 2000-2001 season. Awards for performers, backstage workers and productions will be presented at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Playhouse, off Glenwood Avenue. General admission is $5. A reception will follow. A doo-wop weekend
CONNEAUT LAKE, Pa. -- Slick back your hair, polish those saddle shoes and get out your poodle skirt for the doo-wop weekend planned Friday through Sunday at Conneaut Lake Park.
Throughout the weekend, Donnie Doo-Wop and Johnny B. Goode will spin platters and test the audience's knowledge of the Fabulous '50s. A sock hop featuring Magic Moments will be Saturday night at the Beach Club. Eugene Pitt and the Jive Five will perform Sunday at the ballroom. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

BERLIN CENTER -- The Army Corps of Engineers production committee is looking for actors, musicians, stage crew and choreographers to participate in "Two Feathers in the Spotted Pony," a play written by area resident Joe Donnelly.
The drama deals with the Deerfield "Massacre" of 1807 in which John Mohawk, a Seneca Indian, confronts area settlers over the questionable trading of a pony, as well as other unfair trading practices.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Maureen Collins of Easy Street Productions will teach stage movement and pantomime skills in a summer theater workshop for children at Easy Street's studio, 865 Mahoning Ave., next to Star Supply. Children ages 4 through 12 will be divided into three groups: pre-school beginners, beginners and advanced. Sessions will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 12 to 28. Fee is $50. Rocking the park
LIBERTY -- Rock the Park, a township summer program of bands playing contemporary rock music, will be from 8 to 11 p.m. Fridays in Church Hill Park. Admission is $2.
The dates and bands are: June 15, Stranded, Blue Euphoria and Orangyna; June 29, Hip Hop Night with a disc jockey; July 6, Slander; July 27, Adam Jacobs, X Syndrome and NC17; Aug. 10, Sara Laughs, Insult to Injury and Indignation.
Dean Martin event
STEUBENVILLE -- Dean Martin, the late entertainer who once called Steubenville home, will be remembered during the sixth annual Dean Martin Festival on June 15 and 16. Features will include a film festival June 15 at Jefferson Community College; a silent auction of Martin memorabilia; and performers singing Martin's music July 16 at Steubenville High School. The Dean Martin Muscular Dystrophy Hospital in Youngstown, which is affiliated with St. Elizabeth Medical Center, will receive some festival proceeds, as will music scholarship funds at two Steubenville high schools.
