Annual statistics
Here are some facts about deaths investigated by the Trumbull County Coroner's Office in 2000:
Drugs: Of the 22 drug overdoses, seven of them (32 percent) involved OxyContin. Seventeen of those deaths were accidental and five were ruled suicide.
Homicides: Of the county's eight homicides, six victims were male and two were female. A firearm was involved in four cases.
Accidental: Of the 75 deaths ruled accidental, 45 percent were traffic related and 23 percent were drug related. Other causes included falls, fire, drowning and carbon monoxide poisoning.
