There are five candidates running in the May 15 primary for the Democratic nomination for four city council seats, including the four incumbents. There are no Republicans on the ballot so the race should be decided in the primary. Neither incumbent Peter D. Stephanopoulos nor candidate Jeannette Wright Hooks responded to a Vindicator questionnaire on which this listing is based. * denotes incumbent.

ROBERT T. BURICH*

Age: 47.

Home: 407 Lunn Blvd.

Employment: Manager of Burich Amoco Service.

Education: Sharon High School graduate: Attended Pennsylvania State University.

Experience: Seven years as a city councilman: Managed family business for 15 years.

Family: Wife, Cynthia: A son and a daughter.

Priority: To strengthen the city tax base; Working with developers to fill vacant city lots with affordable housing: Acquire and clear more land in industrial areas to attract business and industry.

RUDOLPH HAMMOND*

Age: 72.

Home: 1911 Paul St.

Employment: Retired from the Sharon Steel Corp.

Education: High school graduate.

Experience: Seven years as a city councilman.

Family: Wife: Ann; One daughter.

Priority: Completing the development of a Keystone Opportunity Zone; Developing City Park and 84 acres of vacant land located in Hermitage but owned by Farrell; Supporting the Hope VI housing rebuilding project.

LOUIS A. FALCONI*

Age: 53.

Home: 1620 Farrell Terrace.

Employment: Social studies teacher and head football coach at Farrell High School.

Education: Graduate of Farrell High School: Bachelor's degree in education from Edinboro State University.

Experience: City councilman for 23 years.

Family: Wife, Patricia: A son and two daughters.

Priority: Development of the Broadway Avenue Corridor and Farrell City Park; Support new housing development and the Hope VI housing rebuilding project.
