Two Republicans and one Democrat are vying for the office of Mercer County Controller being vacated this year by Democratic incumbent Dennis Songer, who chose not to seek a second four-year term. Tom Amundsen of Hermitage is unopposed on the Democratic ticket and so appears assured a spot on the fall ballot. Two candidates from the eastern side of the county are battling for the Republican nomination.
