3 health screenings
STRUTHERS -- Three health screenings will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in Mauthe Park.
Life Line Screening will test for strokes and vascular disease in men and women and offer bone density screening to detect osteoporosis in women.
Tests are $40 each. Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance by calling (800) 407-4557. Free information on these health problems will be available at the screenings.
Blood pressure checks
WARREN -- Forum Health is offering blood pressure screenings May 21 at the Warren Public Library from 10 a.m. to noon and at the Cortland Library from 1 to 3 p.m.
Health and the law
WARREN -- The Trumbull Memorial Hospital Retiree Club meets at 11:30 a.m. Monday for lunch at the Buena Vista, followed by a 12:30 p.m. talk on living wills and power of attorney on health issues.
Cancer survivor day
BOARDMAN -- National Cancer Survivor Day - Celebration of Life for cancer patients and their families is at 6 p.m. Friday at Boardman Stadium across from Southern Park Mall. The ceremony ends at 10:30 p.m. with a luminary ceremony.
YOUNGSTOWN -- A prenatal breast-feeding class is at 6:30 May 22 at Northside Medical Center. The cost is $10. Call (800) 842-9727 to register.
Skin cancer screening
WARREN -- Forum Health and Humility of Mary Health Partners are offering free skin cancer screening from 6 to 8 p.m. May 22 at St. Joseph's Cancer Center. Registration is required by calling the American Cancer Society at (330) 533-0546.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The American Lung Association of Ohio Northeastern Branch is offering hypnosis sessions for weight loss or smoking cessation. A $50 fee includes the initial group session, an audio cassette for home use and a year of reinforcement at any association session.
A weight session will be at 12:30 p.m. June 3, followed by a quit-smoking session at 1:45 p.m. Both are at the Jewish Community Center. Reservations are recommended by calling (330) 792-1215.
GIRARD -- A free immunization clinic open to city children will be at 1:30 p.m. May 24 at the health department. A copy of the child's immunization is required and parents or guardians must accompany children under age 18. Preregister by calling (330) 545-6048.
Free health clinics
LISBON -- The Columbiana County Health Department will have a speech and hearing clinic Tuesday and a pediatric vision clinic Wednesday. Both are free. The speech and hearing clinic is open to anyone up to age 21, and the vision clinic is for children. The vision clinic offers assistance to help buy glasses.
