Bristol High snaps Southington's streak

SOUTHINGTON -- Sarah Henry pitched a one-hitter, while Katie Leasure had three singles as the Bristol High softball team defeated Southington 6-2 in an East Suburban Conference game Friday.

Southington's Jennifer Brunstetter had the lone hit -- a single -- for Southington (14-2, 12-2), which ended an 11-game winning streak.

The losing pitcher was Lindsay Byer (7-2).

Fitch 3, Mooney 1: AUSTINTOWN -- The Falcons (13-8, 4-2 Steel Valley Conference) scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to prevail.

Julie Kemesky singled. Julie Ledford tripled her home, then scored on a sacrifice fly.

Junior Brianna Ozias scattered three hits, struck out five and didn't walk a batter to pick up the win.

In a losing effort for Mooney (12-6, 4-2), Danielle Kepics (5-4) scattered three hits and struck out six and didn't walk a batter.
