AUSTINTOWN -- Private services were today at Rossi Bros. Funeral Home for William J. Chrislip, 81, of 1790 Paisley St., who died Wednesday morning in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Chrislip was born Sept. 19, 1919, in East Liverpool, a son of Melvin T. and Adda Emmerling Chrislip.
He was a self-employed accountant for area corporations and originated Chrislip Bookkeeping for small businesses. He was also an Internal Revenue Service agent. He retired in 1995.
He received an accounting degree in 1953 from Youngstown College and attended Oxford University in England. He was a World War II Army Air Forces veteran.
He was an honorary member of Alpha Tau fraternity, was high priest of the Mason Ashar Chapter in 1963 and 1964, member and secretary of Austintown Rotary Club and a volunteer for Boy Scouts of America.
Besides his wife, the former Henrietta Bishop, whom he married Sept. 2, 1950, he leaves three sons, David W. and Bruce A., both of Cincinnati, and Gary B. of Gilbert, Ariz.; a brother, Melvin of San Clemente, Calif.; and a grandchild.
A son, James T. and a sister, Edna M. Briggs, are deceased.
