YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at noon Saturday at Black & amp; Phillips funeral Home for John Henry Grace Sr., 75, of 525 W. Glenaven Ave., who died Monday in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Grace was born Jan. 28, 1926, in Birmingham, Ala., a son of Edward and Mary Sumptin Grace, and came to the area in 1947.
He attended Youngstown State University, where he majored in medical technology. He had worked for the pipe department of LTV Steel for 35 years before retiring in 1974. He was a member and deacon of St. Patrick Church and served on its Prison Ministry. He was also a member of Peter Claver Lodge.
Besides his wife, the former Verniece Poyner, he leaves two sons, John H. Jr. in California and David L. of Youngstown; a daughter, Mary Beth Grace of Youngstown; a brother, Vernon Grace of Youngstown; a sister, Sarah Woods of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Laura Deeds and Irene Glover, and a brother, William Grace, are deceased.
Friends may call one hour before the service at the funeral home.
