FARRELL, Pa. -- Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home, Sharon, and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, for John Dirgo, 78, of 2000 Haywood St., who died, apparently of a heart attack, Tuesday morning in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System hospital.
Mr. Dirgo was born Jan. 27, 1923, in Sharpsville, a son of Steve and Anna Petrik Dirgo.
He graduated in 1941 from Sharpsville High School and served in the Army during World War II in the Asiatic Theater of Operations and was in the Military Police. He was a member of American Legion Post 160 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5286, both in Farrell.
He retired in 1983 after 40 years at Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric, where he worked in H-10 Building.
He leaves his wife, the former Dorothy M. Grande, whom he married July 10, 1948; a daughter, Deborah A. Mosora of Brookfield; three sons, Richard J. of Ashburn, Va., Larry J. of Menifee, Calif., and Robert T. of Stow; a sister, Ann Logan of Girard; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.
