RUTH ALMA RAY, 82

NEW WATERFORD -- Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home in Columbiana for Ruth Alma Ray, 82, of 47562 state Route 558, who died Tuesday night at home after a long illness.

Mrs. Ray was born Oct. 1, 1918, in Unity Township, a daughter of Sylvester and Florence Seachrist Rupert, and had lived in the area all her life.

She was a licensed horse trainer for 43 years at Mountaineer Park in West Virginia, and was a member of the Horsemen Benevolent Protective Association and Clipper Arie 2415 Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Her husband, James H., whom she married May 2, 1944, died March 9, 1986.

She leaves a son, Jerry L. of New Waterford, and two grandsons.

A son, Harry B.; a sister, Freda Fries; and four brothers, Wayne, Irvin, Harry and Lloyd Rupert, are deceased.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
