LISBON -- Winona area residents will have a chance to hear what can be done to fix failing septic systems that present a pollution risk and must be repaired.
Columbiana County commissioners said Wednesday that they have set a public meeting on the subject for 7 p.m. May 10 at the Winona Fire Department.
Those attending will be briefed on the findings of an engineering company hired by the county to outline the problem and present options for fixing it, Commissioner Dave Cranmer said.
Cranmer explained that the county, which is responsible for implementing repairs, wants input from area residents.
Whatever solution is undertaken is likely to cost affected property owners through assessments, he added.
Solutions county officials previously have said may be possible include installation of a sewage treatment plant.
