ALMIRA JANE WHITE, 88


POLAND -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Christ Church Presbyterian for Almira Jane White, 88, of 301 W. Western Reserve Road, who died Tuesday afternoon in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mrs. White was born Oct. 2, 1912, in Sharon, a daughter of James and Jemima Lansdowne McClain.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the church and its women's organization. She also was a member of Eastern Star Miriam Chapter 278 and Aut Mori Cauldron, and was a volunteer for Girl Scouts for several years. She was a 1930 graduate of Canfield High School.
Besides her husband, Hubert E., whom she married Dec. 21, 1938, she leaves two daughters, Jean White of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Janet Ferguson of Boardman; and two granddaughters.
A sister, Adeline McClain, and a brother, Melvin McClain, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Anstrom-Velker Funeral Home, Boardman, and for one hour before the services Friday in the church. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
