SHARON, Pa. -- A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church here for Samuel R. Frazier III, 80, of 683 Tamplin St., who died Sunday morning in Sharon Regional Health System hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Frazier was born May 11, 1920, in Dormont, Pa., a son of Samuel R. Jr. and Minnie Hookey Frazier.
A graduate of Dormont High School, he attended Robert Morris Business School and worked for J & amp;L Steel in Pittsburgh. He was a World War II Army Air Forces veteran serving in the Philippines, Okinawa and occupied Japan.
He had attended Waynesburg, Pa., College and worked for Gilbert's Insurance Agency of Sharon and later established the S.R. Frazier Agency. He was a member of the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce and was a member and past president of Mercer County Board of Realtors.
He also was a member, deacon and elder of the church and co-sponsored its senior high fellowship with his wife for more than 16 years. He was a member of YMCA of Mercer County in Hermitage and was president of its board of directors. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 668.
Besides his wife, the former Ina N. McDowell, whom he married Nov. 27, 1946, he leaves a daughter, Deborah Frazier of Oakmont, Pa.; a son, Robert L. of Olney, Md.; a brother, Walter L. of Conneaut Lake, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
A brother died in infancy.
