NORTH LIMA -- Junior Bobby Miller (4-0) had six strikeouts and one walk in a five-inning three-hitter, as South Range High clinched at least a tie for the Inter-County League baseball championship with a 12-1 victory over Western Reserve on Monday.
Junior Brad Johnson had a two-run double for South Range (14-3, 12-0 ICL), while the Rohan brothers, sophomore George and freshman Greg, had two singles and a single and double, respectively.
Chris Moore had two singles for Western Reserve (10-6, 5-6).
Mineral Ridge 20, Lowellville 4: STRUTHERS -- Senior Dan Barton had a triple, double and two singles to lead Mineral Ridge's 13-hit attack in a game called after five innings at Cene Park.
John Vogel had a triple and single, Mike Buckner a double and single and Jason Garland and Kendall Kokoski two singles apiece for the Rams (7-7).
Ten different hitters each had a single for Lowellville (1-12, 0-9 ICL).
Springfield 14, McDonald 0: McDONALD -- Matt Lucicosky finished with a two-hitter, striking out five.
Lucicosky, who walked one, had a no-hitter broken up in the fourth when freshman Ken McKay got a single.
Bobby Zitkovic had three hits, while Nate Burkhart, Jim Schuler and Mark Long each added two apiece for the Tigers (13-2). Isaac Smolko and Ben Haug both hit two-run homers.
Sophomore Josh Camuso had McDonald's (2-8, 1-7) only other hit, a single in the fifth.
Jackson-Milton 6, Mathews 4: VIENNA -- Senior Josh Kosa had a double and single and two RBIs, while sophomore Lee Keck had two singles and scored three runs for Jackson-Milton (9-7, 7-3 ICL).
Kosa and Jon Hochendoner each had a double, while winning pitcher, sophomore Keith McVey (2-2), had four strikeouts and no walks.
Adam Englebaugh and Gary Jones both had two singles for Mathews (3-10, 3-8).
