YOUNGSTOWN Amateur boxers to strut best stuff

Billy Lyle of Niles will be the featured attraction while Durrell Richardson is pitted in the co-feature.
YOUNGSTOWN -- An amateur boxing card of 12 bouts is on tap Friday at Krakusy Club, as the Southside Boxing Club presents its Summer Slam III starting at 7 p.m.
The feature will pair Billy Lyle of Niles against Tremaine Woodard of Akron at 147 pounds.
The co-feature will match Durrell Richardson (Youngstown) vs. Damien Malott (Akron), also at 147.
Koval billed: Also billed are four fighters from the recent KO Drugs High School Boxing Tournament: Mike Ramun (147) and Lou Zamudio (132), both from Poland High; and heavyweight Chris Koval and Jason Harseney (132), both from Austintown Fitch.
Koval is undefeated in 21 fights.
Ramun will oppose Lorenzo Hives (Cleveland); Zamudio will take on Luke Bent (West Virginia); and Koval tangles with Jerimey Harper (Akron).
Harseney's opponent has not yet been determined.
Two other heavyweight bouts are slated. Nick Firtha (Akron) goes against Abraham Jones (Pittsburgh), while Mike Johnson faces Kenneth Cotton (Akron).
Little guys: Four Junior Olympic fights also are billed, two of them involving area fighters.
Ronnie Hameyl (Youngstown) meets Mike Sherman (Akron) at 80 pounds, while Chad Brown (Warren) challenges Ronald White (Cleveland) at 85 pounds.
The other two JO bouts are Ira McDowell (Cleveland) against Delvan Williams (Cleveland) at 100 pounds, and Clayton Taylor (W.Va.) versus Raywell Williams (Cleveland) at 112.
Tickets cost $10. Doors open at 6 p.m.
