New Waterford attorney appointed magistrate for common pleas court

LISBON -- Columbiana County Common Pleas Court has added a second magistrate to its staff.
Atty. Carol Ann Robb, 48, of New Waterford, was named to the post recently by the court because there is more work than one magistrate can handle.
Robb's duties will include overseeing preliminary hearings in domestic relations cases, such as divorces and custody matters. She also will assist common pleas judges in legal research and writing.
Another task will be aiding the court in recovering court costs applied in civil cases.
Robb will be paid $48,000 annually, about half of which is expected to come from federal funds. The remainder will come from the court's budget.
Before being hired as magistrate, Robb worked in private law practice in New Waterford. She also worked in the family business, C & amp;K Petroleum Products of New Waterford, a fuel distributor.
Robb also has been employed with the law firm of Roth, Stephens & amp; Blair of Youngstown.
