Trustees OK Austintown budget plan

Published: Tue, June 26, 2001 @ 12:00 a.m.

AUSTINTOWN -- Township trustees have approved their proposed budget for 2002.

The budget, approved during a meeting Monday night, calls for $1.07 million in general fund spending next year, an increase of $31,000 over this year. A significant amount of the general fund -- about $390,000 -- will be spent on personnel.

The budget also includes $3.3 million in spending for the township police and $1.7 million in spending for the township fire department.

Trustees will approve the final budget later this year, after they receive their 2002 certificate of estimated resources from the Mahoning County auditor.
