BROOKFIELD -- A 32-year-old Hermitage, Pa., man was killed Sunday when he came into contact with a high-voltage line Sunday afternoon.
Michael Murray of Highland Road was pronounced dead about 2:30 p.m. at Sharon Regional Health System. An autopsy was to be conducted today.
Brookfield Fire Department said Murray was cutting down a tree on Boyd Street when he hit the 69,000-volt line and fell 21 feet to the ground.
Police arrest womanin man's shooting
WARREN -- Police have arrested a 19-year-old woman in a May 18 shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Van Wye Street.
Tiona L. Jones of Thomas Road is being held in Trumbull County Jail on a charge of complicity to commit attempted murder.
Police say Arthur Drayton, no address available, was shot in the shoulder after an argument.
Authorities have not said how Jones was involved, but noted that Deshawn Pruitt, 26, has also been charged and is in the county lockup.
Break-in at church
WARREN -- Offices were ransacked over the weekend in First Church of God, 1951 Parkman Road, but officials are unsure if anything is missing.
Police say intruders got in Saturday morning by breaking a rear glass door.
An unsuccessful attempt was made to remove a safe.
Teens In Action clubwins national award
CANFIELD -- A club sponsored by the Mahoning Valley Northeast Ohio Camp Fire Council has won a national award as one of the country's best community projects.
The Teens In Action club took fourth place and $100 for making 50 ABCs books and collecting $1,000 worth of supplies for local day-care centers.
The club is a group of teen-agers from Mahoning and Trumbull counties raising awareness of teen issues and helping in the community. The club has won 10 awards in the last 12 years.
Cash prizes are awarded to the top entries from TIA clubs, Boy and Girl Scouts, Camp Fire Boys and Girls, Girls Incorporated, National 4-H Council and Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
Colgate Palmolive created the awards in 1973 to encourage community involvement by youth groups.
Hubbard man reportsshooting to police
WARREN -- A 26-year-old man was shot in the leg in a parking lot at 999 Mahoning Avenue.
David Koch of Saul Drive, Hubbard, was treated for minor injuries after the Friday morning attack.
Courtney Smith of Helan Avenue, Niles, told police she and Koch were sitting in her car when an unknown man fired a gun through the driver's side door.
Howland library event
HOWLAND -- The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library kicks off its summer reading programs Thursday at the Howland branch.

Man robs patronat local food mart
HUBBARD -- A patron was robbed Sunday in Save-A-Step Food Mart at Youngstown-Hubbard and Jacobs roads.
Township police Detective Mike Begeot said a man entered the store at 6:20 a.m. and walked around as if shopping.
When he indicated he had a weapon in his pocket, one patron handed him an undetermined amount of cash.
The man fled without robbing the store or the other patron.
