Published: Sun, June 10, 2001 @ 12:00 a.m.

McDONALD -- Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thomas, 3627 Four Mile Run Road, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary May 19 during a trip to Jeffersonville, Ind., where they were married at Emmanuel Baptist Church on that day in 1951. Upon their return, a family picnic was held in commemoration of the event by their children and their spouses, Jay and Hope Thomas, Margie and Robert Adair, John and Joyce Thomas and Paula and Eric Hoffman, all of McDonald.

Mr. Thomas served in the Third Armored Division of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and is semi-retired from Liberty Steel Products in Hubbard.

His wife, the former Barbara Minto, retired in 1993 from the U.S. Postal Service where she was a clerk at the McDonald Post Office. She is a member of the Holborn Herb Growers Guild.

The Thomases belong to Bethel Baptist Church in Warren. Ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren complete their family.
