Youngstown City Council handled these items Wednesday:
Approved a 2001-2002 Community Development Agency budget of $6.36 million, a $1.37 million budget for housing and $195,000 budget for emergency shelter. All the money is provided by the federal government.
Authorized the board of control to enter into contracts to establish an HIV-AIDS clinic in the city health district.
Appropriated $30,000 to pay two litter enforcement officers.
Supported the efforts of the Third Baptist Church in seeking federal grants to build 46 senior housing units and 15 handicapped housing units.
Authorized the board of control to provide $24,800 to address environmental remediation at the Precision Foam site on Salt Springs Road.
Authorized installing a crosswalk on Hillman Street, near New Bethel Baptist Church.
Authorized the board of control to negotiate and make an agreement with Mahoning County to provide legal defense for indigent people and receive reimbursement from the county.
