Rifle team earns two state titles

CAMP PERRY -- Two members of the Vienna Cougars junior rifle team earned state championships.

Chris Keller, a junior from Girard High, shot 1,584 to repeat as champion in the Kreidler Prone Championship, a 1,600-point match.

Stephanie Birmingham of New Springfield took second with 1,579.

The Cougars squad of Keller, Birmingham, Laura Kuntz of Columbiana and Ryan Pearce of Warren shot 6,297 to take the team title.

Birmingham shot 1,058 (out of 1,200) to take first in the Ohio Rifle and Pistol Association Three Position Championship.
