Poland advances in state tournament

TALLMADGE -- The Poland 11-12 softball team scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Monday to rally for a 10-9 victory over Elyria East at the state softball tournament at Maca Park.

Trailing 9-8, Poland's Lindsey Delsignore walked and scored the tying run in the sixth after singles by Ciera Urchich and Jenna Susany.

Jessica McBride's RBI single scored Urchich for the game-winner. Susany pitched a complete game for the win.

Poland will play Ashtabula at 6 p.m. today.
