CONNIE MACK Area teams are ousted: 4 squads still contend

WW Heating won a tiebreaker to earn a regional berth.

STRUTHERS -- JL Clevelanders, Cleveland Select, Andy's 9ers and Ohio Hawks are the teams alive today in the Connie Mack 18-and-younger state baseball tournament at Cene Park

Roth Brothers, Fabulous Goldsteins and WW Heating have earned berths for next week's Connie Mack Regional tournaments .

Five teams tied for the last qualifying spot after being eliminated in Saturday's action of the Connie Mack 18-and-younger state tournament at Cene Park.

All five drew from a hat and WW Heating picked the winning slip to advance.

Cleveland Select 9, WW Heating 4: Cleveland Select scored three runs in the first inning and two more in the third.

Mike Krieger Hit three singles to pace WW Heating. Tom Zetts hit a triple and single and drove in two runs.

Goldsteins 11, Falcons 3: Fabulous Goldsteins scored 10 of its 13 runs in the last four innings to eliminate the Falcons.

Matt Repec went 3-for-3 with a double and drove in three runs. Kevin Gesacion hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning. He also collected two singles.

Steve Procner came on in relief in the first inning, allowed only two hits and struck out four to pick up the win.

Andy's 9er's 10, Roth Brothers 4: The Niners scored four runs in the first inning and put the game out of reach as it scored five more in the sixth.

Jason Jablonski hit a double and two singles to spark Roth Brothers. Dante Delisio hit a pair of singles and drove in two runs.

Cleveland Select 9, Roth Brothers 1: It took Cleveland Select only five innings to eliminate Roth Brothers.

JL Clevelander 11, Goldsteins 2: JL Clevelanders jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, added five more runs in the second and one each in the third and fourth to prevail.

Goldsteins, which was eliminated, was paced by Kevin Gesacion who tripled.
