Pa. strongman

Walt Gogola lifts 927-pound front-end loader tires. And hoists 270-pound boulders. And pulls 43,000-pound fire trucks. Gogola, of Churchville, Pa., ranks as the 11th-strongest man in the country. Gogola has his biceps set on a specific showdown: the World's Strongest Man in September, broadcast on ESPN. There is a price to pay. "Sometimes, with the stones, my hands bleed a little bit. I have to file down the calluses on my hands every other week." There is also worry. "I'm scared to death," he said. "I'm pushing my body to the limit."
