CANFIELD

July 4

Warrant: Police arrested a 29-year-old Canfield man for failure to appear in drug court. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health center after complaining of chest pains and shortness of breath.

July 6

Theft: A grinder was stolen from a truck parked at Professional Engine Systems, 495 W. Main St. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle, which contained numerous other items.

July 8

A 35-year-old man from Trinity, N.C., was arrested for failure to appear on possession of marijuana charges. Police stopped him and another North Carolina man for selling furniture out of a semi on Willow Bend Drive without a permit.

July 1

Counterfeit: A counterfeit $20 bill was passed at McQuaid's gas station, 702 N. Meridian Road.

Theft from auto: A car door was pried open in the 50 block of Westminister Avenue, and a stereo, compact discs and radar detector were taken.

Attempted: A woman was arrested at the scene after she pried a screen off a residence in the 1000 block of Bexley Avenue and took drugs and change.

Theft: A 2001 Honda all-terrain vehicle was stolen in the 400 block of South Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft from auto: Registration papers were stolen from a 1986 Oldsmobile in the residential 100 block of North Beverly Avenue.

Warrant: A 19-year-old man was turned over to Columbiana police on a warrant for contempt of court after being arrested at an apartment in the residential 4000 block of Rhode Island Drive.

July 2

Criminal damage: A vehicle was damaged by fireworks in the 4000 block of Crabwood Drive.

Theft: A laundry bag was stolen from Howard Johnson's, 5425 Clarkins Drive.

Criminal damage: A vehicle was spray painted in the 4000 block of Rhode Island Drive.

Breaking and entering: An unattached garage was broken into and a bicycle stolen in the 40 block of Lexington Drive.

Theft: Tattooing equipment was reported stolen from the 3000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Criminal damage: Sugar was put in the gas tank of a vehicle in the 5000 block of Colgate Avenue.

Criminal damage: A vehicle tailgate was scratched in the residential 4000 block of Rhode Island Drive.

Criminal damage: The paint on a vehicle was scratched at Phar-Mor, 4755 Mahoning Ave.

July 3

Attempted theft: Someone distracted the clerk while another person attempted to pry open a filing cabinet at the BP Gas Station, 890 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Rocks were taken from a rock garden in the residential 5000 block of Willow Crest Avenue.

Lost or stolen: A wallet was reported missing by a man at Don Walter Kitchens, 260 Victoria Road.

Theft: A 2000 John Deere utility vehicle was stolen at state Route 11 and Interstate 80.

Theft: A purse was stolen at Speedway, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: An ATM/Visa card was stolen at Speedway, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

July 4

Criminal damage: A 1993 Nissan right rear fender was dented in the 4000 block of Lanterman Road.

Burglary: A man entered a residence by cutting the screen in the 300 block of N. Edgehill Avenue.

Drugs: An 18-year-old man was arrested for possession of cocaine in the 200 block of North Beverly Drive.

Criminal damage: A 2000 Toyota Corolla had paint damage in the residential 4000 block of Rhode Island Drive.

Criminal damage: A front passenger window on a vehicle was pushed out in the 1400 block of Fountain Square.

Criminal damage: A porch light fixture was broken in the residential 5000 block of Winthrop Drive.

July 5

Assault: Police arrested a man in an assault case in the 1000 block of Compass West apartments.

Criminal damage: A vehicle window was broken at Westgate Ford, 3680 LeHarps Road.

Theft from auto: An Ohio License plate was stolen from a vehicle at an unknown location in the township.

Burglary: Entrance was gained through an unlocked door at a residence in the 20 block of Crabwood Court, and a handgun and money were reported stolen.

Theft: A scanner was taken by a man at Radio Shack, 5880 Mahoning Ave.

Felonious assault: A man was struck intentionally while sitting in his vehicle by a suspect in another vehicle, who was arrested for drunken driving at the Austintown Plaza, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

July 6

Criminal damage: A mailbox was damaged in the 4000 block of Heritage Drive.

Auto theft: A 1986 Buick Park Avenue was stolen from the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.

Criminal damage: A mailbox was damaged in the residential 5000 block of Radio Road.

Theft: A Rottweiler was stolen from a residence in the 4000 block of Warwick South.

Theft from auto: A compact disc player, CDs and neon lights were stolen from a car at Big Lots, 1730 S. Raccoon Road.

Criminal damage: The passenger vent window was broken on a 1982 Chevrolet parked at Ryder Truck Rentals, 3733 Oakwood Ave.

July 7

Criminal damage: A door mirror was pried off a vehicle at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: Someone cut a window screen out to gain entry to a residence in the 60 block of N. Edgehill Avenue. Food and beverages were stolen.

Theft: A man's wallet was stolen from the BW-3 Bar and Grill, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: An apartment door was pried open, and money and jewelry were stolen from an apartment in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.

Burglary: Someone gained entry through a dining room window while the victim was sleeping and stole a 1991 Oldsmobile Ciera from the garage of a residence in the 100 block of South Yorkshire Boulevard.

Criminal damage: A vehicle was dented in the 4000 block of New Road.
