Grumney 50th to be observed during picnic

NEWTON FALLS -- Mr. and Mrs. Ray Grumney, 5347 Pritchard-Ohltown Road, were honored during a picnic July 7 at their farm in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.

The former Virginia Safko and Mr. Grumney exchanged marriage vows July 7, 1951, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chardon.

Their children are Kathleen Davidson, Laura Bankston and Mary Steinberg, all of Lake Milton; Cynthia Todd of Mineral Ridge; Raymond Grumney of Northfield, Minn.; John Grumney and Aaron Grumney, both of Newton Falls; and Joseph Grumney of Fort Drum, N.Y.

The family also includes 19 grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Grumney retired from General Motors Corp., Lordstown.

Mrs. Grumney is a homemaker.
