Browns observe 50th jubilee at family barbecue

CAMPBELL -- A family barbecue was held July 1 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest A. Brown Sr., 585 Hyatt Ave., in celebration of the couple's golden wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the festivity were the couple's children, Ernest A. Brown Jr. of Youngstown, Mark K. Brown of Youngstown and LaDawn Brown Hudgins of Kingsport, Tenn. Nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren complete their family.
Mr. Brown and the former Marjorie Thornton were married June 28, 1951, in Youngstown. He retired in April 1985 from Youngstown Sheet & amp; Tube Co.'s Campbell Works, where he was a furnace charger. He also is a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
His wife retired in December 1989 from Sears, Roebuck & amp; Co. in Boardman, where she was a division manager in the children's department.
The Browns are members of St. Andrewes AME Church in Youngstown. They plan to further celebrate the occasion on a trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., this summer.
