AUSTINTOWN -- After a honeymoon in Aruba, Mr. and Mrs. Brian D. Smoot are living in Cortland. The former Keri A. Daugherty, daughter of Richard and Susan Daugherty, all of 5862 Yorktown Lane, and the groom, a son of Larry and Lois Smoot, all of 764 state Route 7 N.E., Brookfield, exchanged vows at 2 p.m. May 26 at St. Joseph Church.
The Rev. James Korda officiated at the ceremony, and a reception was held at St. Mary Assumption Social Center, Youngstown.
Mrs. Smoot earned a bachelor's degree in family and child development at the University of Akron and a bachelor's in nursing at Kent State University. She is a nurse at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
The greens superintendent at Yankee Run Golf Course, Brookfield, Mr. Smoot graduated with an associate degree in turf grass management from Ohio State University, Wooster.
The bride's off-the-shoulder gown of white matte satin was styled with a cathedral train.
The bride's sister and honor attendant, Amy Demlow, Medina, wore a daffodil-colored dress, as did the bridesmaids, Thersa Berkenyi of Boardman, Kelly Morgans of Pittsburgh and Jennifer Pethtel of Burlington, N.C. The bride's niece, Erin Demlow, Medina, was flower girl.
Serving as best man for his brother was Larry Smoot Jr., Masury. Groomsmen were David and Steven Smoot, both of Brookfield, the groom's brothers, and Jason Straka, Columbus. Ring bearer was Matthew Smoot, Masury, the groom's nephew.
