The city's control board, made up of the mayor and finance and law directors, approved these items Thursday:
Severance of $6,551 for Michael Hamracek, a plant operator at the sewer plant who died Aug. 6.Severance of $5,126 for Sharon E. Locke, a lieutenant in the fire department who resigned July 4.Severance of $2,679 for Kenneth Dutton, a laborer and truck driver at the sewer plant who died Aug. 12.Severance of $481 for Gina Battisti, a juvenile diversion officer in the police department who resigned July 13.A contract not to exceed $50,000 with Mt. Auburn Associates of Somerville, Mass., to help the city apply for a federal Renewal Community designation. The program provides big tax breaks to businesses in smaller cities to promote development.Approval to lease-purchase two fire pumper trucks. The total amount financed is $438,064.A $9,475 facade renovation loan to Andrews Metals Products on Andrews Avenue. The project will cost $24,360.A $10,000 facade renovation loan to TimeKap Inc. on Belmont Avenue. The project will cost $40,000.
