What's new: Football field, 2,500-seat bleachers, drainage system, natural turf, eight-lane all-weather track with jumping pits, weight-room facilities, locker-rooms, scoreboard, band shell.
What's been renovated: E.Z. Whitaker Press Box, concession stand.
Rededicated: The E.Z. Whitaker Field (football field) in honor of the former Mineral Ridge football coach, and the Dan Evans Field (baseball field) in honor of the Mineral Ridge High graduate who was the second-most decorated veteran in the Vietnam War.
Cost: $1.5 million.
Funding: Joe Lane's $500,000 gift, school board's $200,000 loan and the public's contributions by sponsoring bricks on The Recognition Wall and the Walkway of Champions. On the wall, a 4x8 brick sells for $1,000, and 8x8-inch brick for $2,000 or more. Each brick sells for $50 on the 1,000-brick walkway. As of last Friday, 200 of the 1,000 bricks were sold.

Dedication: Sunday at 7:30 p.m. with fireworks.
First event: Saturday, Band Night.
First football game: Aug. 31 against Grand Valley.
