NORMAN, Okla. -- McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church was the setting at 7 p.m. July 20 for the wedding of Trisha Nicole Wedgeworth, 813 Cedarbrook, and Michael Joseph Stoops of Norman. The Rev. Calvin Brannon presided at the ceremony.
After accepting congratulations during a reception at the Oklahoma Memorial Ballroom, the couple left on a wedding trip to Paradise Island in the Bahamas. They live at the bride's address.
The bride is a daughter of Vivian Sands of Dallas, and the groom is a son of Evelyn Stoops, 16 Milltrace Road, Youngstown, and the late Ron Stoops.
The bride's ivory silk sheath gown featured spaghetti straps, and the bodice was embellished with embroidery.
Champagne and ivory gowns were worn by the honor attendants, Brandy Wolford and the bride's sister, Shauna Herlehy, and the bridesmaid, Lashawn Carpenter. Flower girls were MacKenzie Stoops, the groom's niece, and Payton Stoops, the couple's daughter.
Mark Stoops was best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Bob and Ron Stoops, the groom's brothers, and Fatah Teghanemt. Ring bearer was Kamerun Herlehy, the bride's nephew, and guests were ushered by Keven Herlehy, her brother-in-law; Ben Boyle; and Dwight Bennett.
The bride is majoring in early childhood development at the University of Oklahoma.
The groom graduated from the University of Iowa in Iowa City and is a defensive coordinator and coach for the UO football team.
