Officer will speak at Marine reunion

YOUNGSTOWN -- Major Brian M. Kennedy, of Poland, will be the featured speaker at the 22nd annual Marine Reunion on Saturday at ITAMS Post 2, 115 S. Meridian Road.

Kennedy, commanding officer of the Marine Corps Reserve Center in Johnstown, Pa., was born in Youngstown, graduated from Poland Seminary High School, attended Ohio State University, and was commissioned a second lieutenant in 1989.

He has received helicopter training at several Marine and Navy bases, has more than 2,700 hours in military aircraft and saw action in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

He is a member of American Legion Post 15 in Poland. He and his wife, the former Stephanie Bowers of Poland, have two children, Caitlin and Grace Ann.
