Police look into teen's report of rape

AUSTINTOWN -- Police are investigating a report by a 16-year-old girl who says she was raped twice in 1999 by her neighbor on Colgate Drive. The girl said she waited to tell police because she feared for her safety.
The girl said the rape occurred in her neighbor's house after he had picked her up and told her he was taking her shopping. A few days later, the neighbor called the girl and said he wanted to talk to her about the rape. The girl agreed to meet the neighbor at a grocery store.
When she arrived at the grocery store, the man told the girl to get in his car because he had to go back to his home on an errand. The girl said the neighbor then took her back to his home, bound her arms, took her clothes off and raped her.
The girl said the neighbor told her he would never bother her again if she didn't report the rapes.
