WARREN -- Two 20-year-old women were to be arraigned today in municipal court on charges related to two accidents that injured four people within a span of minutes.
Police say Cristin E. Urso of Washington Street was the driver of a Cavalier that struck a 14-year-old girl on a bike Thursday afternoon and a few minutes later crashed into a van.
The girl, whose name was unavailable this morning, was not seriously injured.
Four people in the van were sent to the hospital but their injuries were not serious either, authorities said.
Urso and her passenger, Jennifer L. Price of Atlantic St. N.E., face a host of charges, including felonies.
They spent the night in the Trumbull County jail. Authorities were to confer this morning on possible additional charges.
Police report: Police say Urso's car hit the girl on Logan Avenue S.E.
Ten minutes later, just before 5 p.m., Urso's car crashed into a minivan at South Street and Main Avenue S.W.
Treated at St. Joseph Health Center for injuries were the van driver, Daniel Bland, 50, of Ridgelawn Avenue, Howland; his wife, Shirley, 48; James Tucker, 47, of Calmetto, Ga.; and Tucker's wife, Sandra, 57.
Reports say Urso ran a red light while driving west on South Street and her car slammed into the side of Bland's van, which was southbound on Main. The van flipped onto its side.
Police say the two women, wearing bikinis, were out of control and combative. Reports say Price assaulted officer Chris O'Rourke as he tried to get her out of the car.
Charges: Urso faces charges of DUI, driving under suspension and a red light violation for the accident at Main and South. Police say she refused to take a breath test.
Other charges against her include underage consumption of alcohol, assault of a police officer, criminal damage and aggravated menacing.
Authorities say Urso hit an officer twice.
Price faces charges of underage consumption and assault of a police officer.
