Howland man elected

Joe Casey of Howland was elected state board director at the 73rd biennial convention in the Akron suburb of Fairlawn the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Ohio.

Casey has been a driving force in the founding and growth of the Sean MacBride Division of the AOH in Trumbull County.

Through his leadership as the division's first president and his continuing efforts the Trumbull County AOH has earned a reputation for its strong support of the youth in community, the organization said.

A senior reliability engineer with General Motors, Casey and his wife, Cheryl, are parents of Kelly, Kevin and Coleen. He is active in Blessed Sacrament Church as a lector, volunteer and commissioned lay leader of prayer.

The AOH is a fraternal, charitable organization that promotes historical education of Irish culture and brotherhood among those of Irish descent.
