MERCER, Pa. -- A judge sentenced two Masury men to 10 days to one year in Mercer County Jail for shooting a gun near a Sharon home.
Michael Hoffman, 20, of Davis Street, and Edward Albert Morrison, 19, of Sharon-Hogue Road, appeared Thursday before Judge Thomas Dobson of common pleas court for sentencing.
Sharon police, who arrested Hoffman and Morrison on Feb. 12, said the men shot at a First Avenue residence Feb. 11 and threatened to kill the home's occupants.
The men told authorities they shot twice into the air and not at the residence, however.
Police said the men told them one of the occupants had threatened Hoffman and his girlfriend.
Hoffman and Morrison said they both had been drinking that night and that "things probably wouldn't have gotten so out of hand if they hadn't been," police reports say.
The men were each originally charged with criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and simple assault.
On June 5, they each pleaded guilty to simple assault. At that time, the remaining charges were dismissed.
