Reporter Pete Milliken had a great story Sunday about the use -- or lack there of -- of the Oakhill facility by county agencies.
The story noted that the county pays $700,000 a year to lease offices while 54 percent of Oakhill is vacant.
Today, the county dedicated its entire county meeting to figuring out what to do about the problem Pete showcased on Sunday.
Clearly — a plan.
Great job, Pete & Vindy.

Wasn't that the reason the county bought the old South Side Hospital? To consolidate all their offices into one space?

Why hasn't this been done? Yes, good job bringing this to light!!

I agree, wonderful coverage. I read that whole story front to back- and back to front- and I was impressed by the level of detail and the research that, obviously, went to it.

I read the paper every day and all the Vindy writers are good- but, for my money, Milligan is the best. Mainly for the quality of research and the documentation. He does what anyone writing for a "newspaper of record"- which the Vindicator is- should do- Research the Facts and Record Them.
