Step up Judge Douglas, this man hasn't learned a thing! He was let off easy and he can't even follow the rules of his probation. What he did is despicable, please give him the maximum for his parole violation. If he couldn't afford to care for dogs he was paid to care for, how is he caring for these dogs?

Judge Douglas, as an Ohioan I plead Nitro's case to you again. Nitro was left in Steve Croley's care. Steve Croley let Nitro and several other dogs starve to death while he sat inside his warm house. Then to shove it in the face of Nitro's owners and the judicial system here in Ohio, he disobeyed the law again and broke his parole, not to mention that he owns more dogs now and that is against his probation too. Judge Douglas it's time for you to now do the right thing and put Steve Croley in Jail for the longest possible time you can, and to show Ohio that you mean business. Nitro was a loving companion who never should have had his life end in the way it did. Change history for Ohio, put this monster in Jail for a very long time.

Our organization sent written communication to both the Judge and the Probation Officer regarding witnesses and evidence in our possession. It was detailed. We hope they contemplated the contents and do the right thing.

Judge Douglas, Please right the horrific acts commited against these innocent and helpless furbabies! This man not only committed these horrible crimes then claimed bankruptcy. He has manipulated the law long enough. And now he outright thumbs his nose at you and the entire justice system. Please sentence him to the maximum amount allowed by law. Show him.and others that the bench stands for integrity!

I do not feel the need to explain to you how important it is to stop animal cruelity because the people commiting these CRIMES are the same commiting others. I am sure you are a resonable and smart man, are you going to do the right thing? We are watching and waiting. The community of people who get the significance of animal cruelty is stronger than ever. We want people in positions of power to understand as well. Thank You.

Unfortunately, there are flaws in the criminal justice system, HOWEVER that is not an excuse to stop striving for true justice. This case isn't just about animal cruelity. People whom abuse animals abuse people. It is a proven fact, not to mention that Croley has proven his lack of respect for the courts and civil laws. He should go back to jail AND NEVER BE ALLOWED TO GO NEAR ANOTHER ANIMAL AGAIN.

He's looking at 600 days and he deserves EVERY SINGLE ONE of them.

I hope the Judge FINALLY steps up and does SOMETHING RIGHT! The fact that he got a slap on the wrist, then let go--back into the home WITH the dogs--while being in VIOLATION is just sickening! Also, the fact that the PROBATION OFFICER DID NOT EVEN CHECK ON HIM --OR CARE ABOUT INFORMATION GIVEN TO HER REGUARDING THIS CASE IS PREPOSTEROUS!

That POS has not, and never could, get what he deserves for what he did to those helpless animals and the pain and suffering he caused them, and for the heartache of their families.
He at the very least deserves to be locked up for the maximum sentence for his parole violation.

Everyone know if you abuse animals you will abuse people. Give this guy the maximum sentence for what he did. Why is the probation officer and the court not doing their job? This guy doesn't deserve to be free after murdering 7 beautiful companion animals! This is why Ohio needs HB 108 to be passed, we should all be ashamed that Ohio has no felony law on the books to protect animals.

Steve Croley has shown an utter disregard for the lives of animals he was paid to care for, and now has shown a complete disregard for Judge Douglas' ruling. Croley should be given the maximum sentence allowed of 600 days, as is being recommended by the Prosecuting Attorney in this case, and should never again be permitted to possess an animal.

Croley was paid well to care for the animals entrusted to him at his training facility, High-Caliber K9. He betrayed the trust of the innocent animals entrusted to him, not to mention his PAYING clients. Eight of the animals died due to his complete lack of regard. He claimed he could not afford to feed them, despite the fees being paid to him in advance, and he never tried to contact owners to pick up their animals. He lived within yards of where these animals suffered and died. He heard their cries, yet he did nothing. In fact, according to reports, he even removed food and water bowls from Nitro's kennel. This signals intent to me. He allowed their agony to continue until their cries were silenced by their deaths. I would say that this behavior alone proves that he is a danger to any animal that is in his possession.

Part of his sentence was that he was not to possess any companion animals during his probation period. Yet, just before his probation was up, he was found to be in possession of three dogs. This man has not only shown a complete disregard for the suffering of those entrusted to him, he has now proven that he scoffs at the law, at the Courts, and at you, sir, who sentenced him in his first case. Croley has shown himself to be unworthy of possessing his freedom. He is a danger to any animal in his care, he and may be a danger to society as it is well known that most serial killers began by torturing and killing animals. Simply put,Croley should face the maximum sentence allowed by law and should never be permitted to possess any animal in his lifetime.

Please step up Judge Douglas and punish this criminal who has shown flagrant disregard for the justice system. He got off so easily the first time that he does not think that he needs to listen to the law and follow his probation. His probation officer should have been checking on him but it would have still resulted in this moment where the cold hard facts are that he has the possession of an animal during his probation which he is not supposed to have. Please look at the facts and punish him for thumbing his nose at Ohio's law system.

Judge Douglas! You have so much power over life and death, also the power to move Ohio ahead into the 21st century by recognizing that cruelty is immoral, no matter on whom the cruelty is inflicted. Please consider standing up for what is right and taking a stand against cruelty. Nazi concentration camps and Southern lynchings are only a few steps beyond this man's attitude that suffering doesn't matter.

I elect Judge Douglas to do the right thing----- your responsibility is to help protect the citizens- and if irresponsibility, laziness, and simply- if a person is not doing the job they were hired for & is being paid by US..... 'come on.... JUSTICE will never work for Ohio. Judge, this case is already a terrible example of the justice system- please make it right- STEP UP... Do it for the victims that have been cheated in having Justice work in their favor. Stop helping the bad guys........
