Josie Romero
Josie Romero, an eight-year-old American girl, then called Joseph, knew at the age of four that she was the wrong sex and even often said: 'I am really a girl.'
She loves the color pink, braiding her hair and having her fingernails painted. Meanwhile, she was always trying to turn her boy toys into girl toys.
At the age of six, Josie was referred to a gender specialist who confirmed the diagnosis and the family began accepting Josie as a real girl.
After making a brave and painful decision, her parents allowed their 8-year-old son to live life as a girl.
Now, Josie's birth certificate, passport and even her social security number were changed to complete her change to a girl.
Although she is a female by law, she can not receive surgery until she is 12-years-old.
