Because what awaits you on this beastly Par 5 is surely not any less disturbing.
The size of No. 4 with its 90-degree turn is daunting. Add in a second-half that is all uphill and around bunkers and over a tundra-like terrain, and you have a formidable hole on your hands.
Abundant wetlands left off the tee box easily push drives to the right. And from that position, you likely have a longer distance to the tee than you just made off the tee.
The hilltop placement of the green results in many blind pin shots from down below.
A sloping green finishes you off.
We like holes that scream “Take your par and go.” This is one.
