Week five Golfers

Frank Zarlenga

“If you don’t put your shot in the right spot, you’re finished. When the pin’s below the bank, you’ve got some problems ahead.”

Justin DuPuis

“Managing your game is the hardest thing for a golfer. ‘What not to hit.’ Here — you lay up. Left is dead; back is dead. The only safe bail-out is right, but then you have a hellacious up and down. Just lay up. I played 5-iron and wedge for a birdie.”

Jason Lariccia

“If you can carry the ball 250 yards, go up the right side. The tough thing about the green is its 3-tiered and don’t fly the hole because there’s nothing but trouble.”

This looks like a nice green, I wonder how long it takes to play the whole course.

I was playing Kennsington with a friend and we were, as usual, struggling to stay accurate on this course. He got off a nice drive on #14, and then we thought he scorched his second shot over the green with too much club, because we didn't see it land on the green. As I was searching for my wayward second shot, he went to look for his. He was looking past the green but couldn't find it, assuming it went into some of Kennsinton's notorius high grass. To his surprise (after he took a shot from where we thought it went out of bounds) he went to pull the pin, and guess what was there? Yep, he had eagled #14. To this date, that is still our only success story from Kennsington. Every time we finsh a round there, I promise myself that I'll never go back. But it just keeps pulling me back in. Hopeless!

Even though it is a short par 4, its still a good hole. With a slight risk may come an eagle.

Takes as long to play a round here as any decent par 71 or 72 course.
