Description: Come to a fabulous afternoon and relish in the gorgeous and inspiring art of Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh scholar, artist and former Youngstown resident, Marlene Aron, will present an entertaining and highly informative slide lecture on one of the most influential and magnificent artists of the 19th Century. Explore through slides and photographs the intense, personal journey of Vincent Van Gogh - a journey of self-discovery that led this great artist to experience the depths of despair and the heights of exaltation. A man whose deep spiritual convictions drove him to create some of the most beautiful, powerful and deeply moving and personal art ever seen. An Afternoon with Vincent Van Gogh: A Life in Stories and Art is an in-depth study of one of the most brilliant and influential artists of the 19th Century. An artist whose work paved the way for the Modern Art Movement of the 20th Century and beyond. Also included will be the work of Paul Gauguin, Paul Cezanne, Toulouse Lautrec, Camille Pissarro, Mary Cassatt, as well as Monet, Manet, Renoir and Seurat. Admission at the door is $10.00 Marlene Aron began the study of Van Gogh's life and art over thirty-five years ago. She has given lectures, workshops and classes on the life and art of Vincent Van Gogh for sixteen years, in museums, universities, art centers, retirement homes, libraries and private schools, throughout northern CA, OH, PA and MA. Ms. Aron was educated in The Netherlands at the Vrije Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague, and in the United States, receiving her Master of Fine Arts Degree from California College of the Arts. She earned her BA Degree from Youngstown State University and attended Ohio University.
